The charm of the traditional Galician house with the most modern amenities

This room has two windows in the bedroom, the en-suite bathroom is windowless, decorated in blue and white tones with a hydro massage bath.

The bed in this room is 1.50 cm., the headboard was made putting together the two parts of an old forged iron bed, we weld the headboard and the foot part to get the right size, double beds used to be very narrow, only 1, 05cm.! In this room we kept the stoned back wall exposed and the rest of the room is painted in warm tones. The wardrobe and tall bedside tables are family relics that have over one hundred years of cherished usage.

My grandmother’s room used to be the largest in the house, it also occupied the space of what today is the bathroom of the Cuarto da Chimenea.

Besides the double bed there used to be a cot and a small bed for the children, my mother remembers that they only were allowed to sleep in their parent’s room when they were ill and that in the cot there was always a baby, my grandmother had four sons and two daughters!
