Cuarto do

Tío Cura

The charm of the traditional Galician house with the most modern amenities

This is a very bright room, we have decorated it in yellow tones, with wallpaper on one of the walls and kept the stone exposed on the balcony wall. The narrow balcony is typical in traditional houses in the area, we just added a small table with two chairs.

The 1.35 cm bed and furniture are very old, family-owned, with a tall cabinet and side tables and a hand-carved headboard. The en-suite has a window, it is also decorated in yellow tones and very bright, it features a hydro massage bath and a sink on a wooden stand.

This room used to be the parlour on the first floor. Formerly these rooms had very little use, used for big family gatherings during festivities and as a sewing room when dressmakers came home to make garments for the family, this used to be a mobile job and they would stay over for a few days till they finished the work. Also this room was for many years reserved to an illustrious guest in our house, my grandmother’s uncle, who was a priest somewhere in Pontevedra, hence the name.
